Second step: Prepare your item
In the Advanced search section on eBay, click on the completed item search link. Here you have to spend time and do some research on what items are available, the prices other sellers charge for the items, the shipping charges, the photos/pictures of the items. This research will help you get a fairly good idea of giving a title to your item, pricing, and giving a good description of the item. Take a high resolution photograph of the item you want to sell and save it on your computer. If you’re a first time seller, don’t select an item of high value. Start with a relatively simple item so that you’ll get the hang of it. Once you gain enough experience, you can go ahead and sell anything.
Third step: List your item for sale
Select the Item category. Enter a keyword of your item and select a category that is most relevant to your item and click on “sell it” link. Enter the title of the item. The title of the item plays a very important role in attracting buyers. Include as many keywords as possible so that your item comes up when any buyer searches for similar product. Next step is to add a photo of the item. Make sure you have some good photographs of the item saved on your computer before clicking the “Add pictures” button. Once you click on “Add pictures”, browse to the folder in which your photographs are saved and click on the “upload photos”. You can upload up to three photos for free. After this, choose a selling format and payment methods that you are willing to accept from buyers.
Fourth step: Track your listing of the item
Once you create your listing, you can keep a track of your item in “My eBay” link. There you will get the status of your item, the details of auction, the highest bidder, and payment status.
Fifth step: Receive payment to complete the sale
Once you receive an order, eBay will send a confirmatory email regarding the sale of the item. Go to “my eBay” and send your buyer an invoice and after receiving the payment, you can ship the item.
