Places To Get Free Websites

There aren’t many good places to get a free website for your business. Sure, there are a lot of different options out there, but most of them really aren’t that great for building a business foundation.

Normally it’s better to invest in your own domain name and hosting. That gives you must more control over your business, and allows you to look more professional.

But when you’re first starting out, it makes sense to try a free website, right? So in that case, here are a few of the best services to try.

Weebly

Named as one of the Top 50 Websites by Time Magazine, Weebly is one of the most tried-and-tested free website platforms out there. That’s largely because of how easy it is to use, as you simply drag and drop different aspects of your website to make it look how you like.

For example, you choose where pictures go, how big the boxes of text are, the various colors of your background, etc.

Weebly also makes it easy to transfer your website to a domain name, if you choose to do so. That’s great because it lets you build a free website now, and later you can keep using it when you can invest in hosting and a domain name.

Wix

Wix hasn’t been around quite as long as Weebly, but its functionality is very similar. You build your website by dragging modules to different parts of the page.

You may also find Wix a little easier to use than Weebly. Their extra features like animation effects, RSS feeds and widgets such as Google Maps give it more functionality without having to mess with HTML code.

Webs

Webs has been used by over 20 MILLION people, so it’s definitely one of the most popular platforms.

It has a lot of features, but one of the most notable is its ability to link with PayPal or Google Checkout. This makes it easy to build an online store in case your home business is heavily involved with e-commerce.

The only downside is that Webs isn’t quite as easy to use as Weebly or Wix. If you aren’t the most tech-savvy person in the world, there are probably better options for you.

Webnode

Webnode doesn’t look like a website builder. Instead, it looks more like you’re in a Microsoft Word document!

It functions a bit differently than some of the others as well. You essentially click around in your own site, making changes along the way. This makes it easier to see how your website will look once it’s published.

The best part about Webnode is that it automatically links your pages to each other. This makes it a great choice if you’re building a fairly large website with a lot of articles, products or videos.

Need More?

There are a lot of other platforms out there. Synthasite, Jimdo, and Yola just to name a few. But keep in mind that most of them tend to be very different from the next, so it’s difficult to say which one is best considering it’s all dependent on personal preference.

But now you have a few good places to get a free website for your home business. Go ahead and try a few before you decide on just one though- you don’t want to end up with one you dislike later!
